The AI adoption gap
Five years ago, the bottleneck for enterprise AI was the model. The systems that existed couldn't reason well enough on business questions to be production-trustworthy. Procurement of capability was the central question, and most enterprise AI strategies were built around it.
That bottleneck moved. The frontier-class models available from late 2025 onward are reasoning-capable enough that, for the majority of enterprise use cases, the limit on what AI can do is no longer what the model can think — it's what data the model is allowed to see.
