Data Sovereignty
Your Data. Your Truth. Your Sovereignty.
The EU Data Act gives you the legal right to your data. But legal access without structural clarity is just a pile of exports. ConnectSphere creates the structural truth that makes data sovereignty real.
The Two Lock-ins
Enterprises face two kinds of vendor lock-in. Regulation can solve one of them. The other requires a fundamentally different approach.
Contractual Lock-in
Egress fees, restrictive license terms, proprietary APIs that make leaving expensive. This is what the EU Data Act solves: from January 2027, switching fees drop to zero and providers must enable data portability within 30 days.
Solved by regulation
Structural Lock-in
Your data is shaped around vendor logic, not your business reality. The same customer lives in your ERP, your CRM, and three legacy systems — different fields, different formats, different “truths.” You can export everything and still not know what you have.

Regulation (EU) 2023/2854
The EU Data Act
The Data Act creates harmonised rules for fair access to and use of data across the EU. It eliminates contractual barriers to data portability and cloud switching — a landmark shift for enterprises locked into SaaS ecosystems.
Sep 2025
Most Data Act rules in force
- •Data access and portability rights apply to connected products and cloud services.
- •Users can request machine-readable exports and share data with third parties.
- •Public sector can access privately-held data for emergencies and public interest.
Sep 2026
“Access by Design” for new products
- •New connected products must be designed so data is accessible by default.
- •Manufacturers must provide clear information about what data is generated and how to access it.
Jan 2027
Zero egress fees, 30-day switching
- •Cloud and SaaS providers may no longer charge data egress or switching fees.
- •Maximum 30-day transition period for full data portability between providers.
- •Exported data must be functionally equivalent — usable, not just technically delivered.
Sep 2027
Unfair contract clauses void
- •Contractual terms that restrict data access or portability are automatically null and void.
- •EU Model Contractual Terms and Standard Contractual Clauses available as templates.
- •Protects businesses from unjustified conditions imposed by stronger market positions.
Data Access & Portability
Users have the right to obtain data generated by connected products and cloud services in machine-readable format — and to share it with any third party.
Cloud Switching
From January 2027: zero egress fees, maximum 30-day transition period, and functional equivalence of exported data. The contractual barriers to switching disappear.
Fair Contracts
Unfair terms that restrict data access or portability are null and void. The EU has published Model Contractual Terms as practical templates for fair data sharing.

The Structural Enablement Layer
The Data Act opens the door. ConnectSphere gives you the map. Without moving or copying data, the meta-architecture creates the structural clarity that makes exercising your rights meaningful.
| The Data Act gives you… | ConnectSphere gives you… |
|---|---|
| Legal right to access your data | Structural map of what data you actually have |
| Export in machine-readable format | Normalised, deduplicated model ready for any target |
| Right to switch cloud providers | System-independent meta-layer — no structural rework when switching |
| Freedom from egress fees (Jan 2027) | Freedom from semantic lock-in (the harder problem) |
| Prohibition of unfair contract terms | Provenance trails proving data origin and ownership |
Meta-Architecture
Non-invasive overlay above your existing systems. No migration, no data copying. Your systems keep running.
Learn more →Normalization
Cardinality-driven analysis maps redundancy across all systems and resolves contradictions into one logical truth.
Learn more →Audit & Provenance
Every data point traces to its source system. Full lineage, fully compliant — prove where your data came from.
Learn more →Data Sovereignty
Original data stays at source. Only structure and context are orchestrated — aligned with the Data Act's principles.
Learn more →Ready Before January 2027
When egress fees drop to zero, the enterprises that already understand their data will move first. ConnectSphere's 6-month POC timeline means you can start the structural work now and be sovereign before the switching wave begins.
